One night, a young mage named Vaelor discovered a forbidden prophecy. It said that Noctis would one day be destroyed by his own darkness. Vaelor secretly destroyed the order’s black soul crystals. When the final crystal shattered, thousands of lost voices returned to Noctis at once. The shadows turned against their master, and the entire fortress vanished in black fire. Since then, people say the towers of Noctis sometimes appear in the fog, and whispers can be heard calling for new mages.
