Beyond the Flat Earth lived the Sequoya, an ancient tribal people who traveled across hidden paths between worlds. Their warriors wore feathered cloaks and marked their skin with silver ash from sacred fires. Every generation, a glowing bridge appeared beyond the ice wall at the edge of the world. Takoma, a young hunter of the Sequoya, crossed the bridge with the shaman Awen in a canoe made from black cedar wood. Far beyond the sky of Earth, they discovered floating islands, silent oceans of light, and enormous creatures sleeping in the dark between stars. At the center of this endless void stood a giant crystal tree filled with blue fire. When Takoma touched its surface, visions flooded his mind. He saw thousands of flat worlds drifting through space around a hidden source of power. Deep within the darkness, ancient beings slowly awakened and turned their attention toward the worlds below.
